Mark Anthony-Middleton – Senior Pastor
 
Rev. Mark-Anthony Middleton is the founder and pastor of the Abundant Hope Christian Church and the founder and CEO of Abundant Hope Incorporated.
 
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York he is the son of the late Deacon Benjamin James Middleton Sr., and Mrs. Margaret Downer Middleton.
 
Pastor Middleton was educated in the New York City Public Schools System. He is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He received his theological training at the Duke University School of Divinity and also did course work at New York Theological Seminary.
 
Pastor Middleton was licensed and ordained to Christian Ministry at the renowned Concord Baptist Church of Christ in Brooklyn, New York where the Rev. Dr. Gary V. Simpson is the Senior Pastor. Rev. Middleton grew up in Concord under the leadership of the legendary Rev. Dr. Gardner C. Taylor whom he credits as “the first mortal to stoke the fire of preaching that God placed within me.” Dr. Taylor is now the pastor emeritus of Concord.
 
Pastor Middleton is an award winning essayist and a published author. His work appears in the popular African-American Devotional Bible published by the Zondervan Publishing Company. He has appeared on national television (BET) to discuss leadership in the African-American community.
 
Pastor Middleton is a life member of the NAACP and a past Assistant State Director of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc.


Tammy White Rodman - Associate Minister
 
Associate Minister Tammy Rodman has served as the Executive Administrator for the Abundant Hope Christian Church in Durham, NC, for more than 2 years and serves as an Associate Minister under the leadership of Rev. Mark-Anthony Middleton.
 
Minister Rodman is a graduate of North Carolina Central University with a BA in Psychology, and a May 2008 recipient of her M. Div from the Shaw University Divinity School in Raleigh, NC. She has also completed graduate work at Pfeiffer University in both Business and Health Administrations. It is her desire to pursue her Doctorate in Pastoral Counseling.
 
Minister Rodman has also served on the Board of Directors of the Urban Ministries Shelter for the Homeless, and with the Durham Congregations, Associations, and Neighborhoods organization.
 
Minister Rodman loves the Lord and desires to be all that He would have her to be. She also desires that each person places his or her focus on coming to know Jesus. Her favorite scripture is Proverbs 3:5-6, which says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
